From Personal Experience to Professional Dedication
Michele's journey to becoming a physical therapist began with a deeply personal experience that profoundly shaped her career path. Her father, an avid skier, racquetball player, and sailor, suffered a severe skiing accident that necessitated knee surgery. The prognosis from his surgeon was disheartening; he was told that he would likely never be able to enjoy his favorite activities again.
However, determined not to let this setback define his future, Michele's father embarked on a rigorous physical therapy regimen. Through dedication and hard work, he gradually regained full function of his leg. As a result, he was able to return to his active lifestyle, skiing down slopes, competing in racquetball, and sailing once more. Witnessing this remarkable transformation firsthand, Michele was inspired to change her major from veterinary medicine to physical therapy, driven by the desire to help others in the same way her father had been helped.
Today, Michele is a highly skilled physical therapist who specializes in helping patients with balance issues, postural education, neuromuscular challenges, and functional mobility. Her work with patients with Parkinson's disease has achieved notable success in improving their quality of life.
Michele firmly believes that the most dedicated patients who diligently perform their exercises at home experience the best results. She sees herself not as a "fixer," but rather as a health coach who empowers her patients to take control of their own health. Her goal is to help them achieve full function and the best possible quality of life. With her compassionate approach and professional expertise, Michele guides her patients on their journey to recovery, ensuring they can enjoy all the activities they love.
